Random Thoughts At Midnight – 02/05/10

More random thoughts, now with color-safe bleach…
- iPhone:
- Three more days until I’m eligible to upgrade my shattered iPhone. Kind of silly, really – I never wanted to upgrade, I just want the same stinking thing because I dropped it face first on the pavement. Speaking of – Continue reading Random Thoughts At Midnight – 02/05/10
Things Blew Up Real Good…
Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:17
So, it was my first 4th of July in the mountains of Washington. There were definitely some differences for this humble city boy from Los Angeles:
First off – they actually SELL fireworks. Here. In the forest. If this were my old neighborhood, hundreds of Cub Scouts and Church volunteers would have been in jail for illegal distribution. Continue reading Things Blew Up Real Good…
Famous People: Please Stop Dying
Sunday, 28 June 2009 06:51
Just a quick note to any famous people that may be reading my blog. A simple request: Please stop dying. I’m getting tired of being surprised, and I’m developing TMJ from my jaw continually dropping. Your bad health is just not good for my health. Continue reading Famous People: Please Stop Dying
Yes, I’m Writing About Roses
Sunday, 7 December 2008 09:19
Rose petals, to be exact.
There are these rose bushes outside of my home. Very pretty, indeed – as long as the roses are in bloom. Then, you better look fast, because the things don’t just lose a few petals as they pass their prime, they seem to literally explode – you go out the next day, and the rose is gone, with a littering of petals all over the ground. Continue reading Yes, I’m Writing About Roses
My Own Worst Enemy – Why?
Saturday, 6 December 2008 10:59
So, I hear that NBC’s My Own Worst Enemy has been canceled. Frankly, that’s just fine with me, considering I just gave up on it and took it off the record list. Continue reading My Own Worst Enemy – Why?
Steve Jobs For President
Monday, 25 August 2008 09:30
Sure, it will never happen. Sure, it’s been talked about before. But tonight on The Half Hour You’ll Never Get Back, Steve actually tosses his hat into the ring, and I get to talk to Ted Koppel, who has come out of retirement just for my show – actually, he says it’s because he has nothing better to do, but I think he’s a kidder. Continue reading Steve Jobs For President
Talking To Myself – A Good Thing?
Saturday, 16 August 2008 03:48
I’ve come to the conclusion that talking to yourself can be not only helpful, but beneficial. So far, talking to myself is making people smile, laugh and write emails. Generally, the emails are even favorable. Continue reading Talking To Myself – A Good Thing?
Today’s Event
Saturday, 19 July 2008 05:57
Yes, sporting shows are going too far – but I suppose they haven’t gone this far… Yet.
Bill Williams and Buck Buckerson call the play-by-play yet again, and there’s even a cameo by Ray Butterball. If you don’t know who these guys are, then you probably missed their last appearance in The Hunting Program, so you might want to go check that out. Continue reading Today’s Event
My 4th Of July
Saturday, 5 July 2008 02:54
This was my 4th of July:
I went to Santa Maria, California for the Fourth of July holiday. An interesting point here, after many years in LA county, where fireworks are forbidden, this is not a “dry” county – they actually let you buy those “safe and sane” fireworks. In fact, they sanction parking lot celebrations in major shopping centers, and everyone pulls into a space, breaks out the portable grills and blows stuff up. Continue reading My 4th Of July
Magic Sword
Sunday, 29 June 2008 05:54
Magic Sword is not new, but it is pivotal. Four years ago or so, I whipped this up for a puppetry CD. There was actually an entire book, as well. The book was titled “Puppets in Ministry” and the track title off of the disk was “Vincent’s Voice Workshop.” In the audio I took the listener through various types of voices they could do when recording a puppetry program for children.
